OpenDecks
OpenDecks.net is a DJ organisation that is building a network of open-deck sessions in the UK and internationally, where aspiring DJs can showcase their skills and play to a live audience.
OpenDecks.net was founded on a desire to serve the DJ community worldwide. We aim to co-ordinate and complement existing Open Decks events and host our own nights in partnership with our valued venues. We strive to serve the needs of our Venues and the needs of our DJs with our network of Local and International Organisers. By serving the needs of both Venues for increased business and our DJs desire to perform - we see a complementary union.
We are based in Shoreditch, London, United Kingdom.
DJs and Producers
We don't need mixes or experience. But we do need you to familiarise yourself with our equipment.
This is your only requirement to be able to play.
Mixer - Traktor Kontrol Z2
Turntables - Reloop RP-4000 MK2
CDJ's - Numark NDX500
We support Traktor, Serato and Algoriddim software. Sorry, we don't support Rekordbox.
Serato maps perfectly to the Traktor Kontrol Z2 Mixer.
You can 'play through' this mixer by using it's pass-through button on each channel to make it analogue. This enables the ability to play normal vinyl and CDs on the system.
Digital DJs
If you wish to play off USB - Format your drive to FAT32 and load MP3's.
Please bring TWO USBs as each CDJ needs a USB input!
Make sure to familiarise yourself with the Numark NDX500 to play on our system.
If you wish to bring your own controller - that's fine - it can plug into our system with an RCA / Audio cable which we supply.
You'll need your own controller if using Algoriddim. We recommend the Reloop Mixtour Pro.
Bring your own headphones and timecode Vinyl / CDs.
If this is your first time playing or even if you're rusty - imperfection is OK. Don't sweat it.
It helps to be humble and always read the room.

Come with one friend and play for 30 minutes
Come with 5 friends and play for 45 minutes
Come with 10+ friends and you play for an hour!
